We'll start with the basics: baking cupcakes from scratch: ingredients, techniques, kitchen safety and hygiene, baking at home, keeping cakes fresh, freezing, etc etc


Learn to color and use fondant and gumpaste to make edible decorations for cakes and cupcakes

Modelling basics

Making figures, which materials to use, supports, using cutters and moulds

Popular cakes

Creating their own version of the most popular cake at the moment

Fillings and Icings

We'll go over the different types of fillings and icings used for cakes and cupcakes and make several types including pastry cream, buttercream and ganache

Cake Pops and Cookies

Making cake pops and cookies from scratch, moulding pops into different shapes like trees and hearts, dipping and decorating and icing

Covering cakes

Applying a crumb coat and using fondant to cover cakes and cupcakes

Final Project

Working on their own creation from drawing to final cake/cupcakes. Presentation for parents/family on the last day and 'graduation' with certificate!
